Watches and Wonders, Geneva’s watchmaking high mass, closed its doors on April 2 with record attendance figures. Patek Philippe is one of the founding members of the Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation but also and above all of the “Big Four”, these four independent watchmaking houses (along with Rolex, Audemars Piguet and Richard Mille) which alone account for 42% of the turnover total branch business. The brand employs nearly 3,000 people and is one of Geneva’s biggest taxpayers. Thierry Stern, its owner, details the undeniable advantages of being independent and his strategic vision to maintain the value of his products.
