French center Rudy Gobert was a trend this Sunday in the NBA by hitting his Minnesota Timberwolves teammate, Kyle Anderson, on the bench during one of the team’s timeouts against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The incident occurred with four minutes remaining in the second quarter, when, in the middle of coach Chris Finch’s talk, Gobert couldn’t take his teammate’s pointing, throwing a punch in front of the rest of the team.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Anderson told Gobert to try to block some shots, to which the center replied that he would rebuke some rebounds.
The argument turned physical when Anderson told Gobert to “shut the fuck up.”
Gobert was sidelined for the remainder of the game for his behavior, apologizing via Twitter late Sunday night.
Sources: After bench incident, Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert and Kyle Anderson had a heated verbal exchange in halftime locker room as well, with Anderson challenging the center at one point saying, “I’ll knock your a– out.”

“His behavior on the bench was unacceptable and we will continue to manage the situation internally,” T-Wolves president of basketball operations Tim Connelly said in a statement shared by ESPN.
Now the Timberwolves will face the Los Angeles Lakers of LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the ‘play in’ tournament. Whoever wins that game will advance to the NBA playoff round.
