From July 15, Air Europa flights between Córdoba and Madrid will be direct three times a week, without a stopover in Asunción del Paraguay.
A week ago, by reports, it was reported that from the 18th of this month to July 1st, the Madrid – Córdoba route would be covered with direct flights. Now, in a statement issued yesterday by the airline, the announcement was made official but with the variant that there will be three weekly flights from Barajas to the Ingeniero Taravella airport, without a stopover in Asunción.
We said at that time that Perfil Córdoba “was able to know that the passenger rates that fly from Córdoba to Madrid are carefully looked at” and that “although those flights are completed in Asunción on the way out, if the route is direct, without stops ( around 12 hours), they estimate that the occupancy levels might be reached in the potential regional market represented by the local airport”.
This information would be confirming that the company made the decision for that reason, in addition to an “operative reorganization” with Argentina. Air Europa is going through a conflict with the strike of its pilots.
This is the official statement from the company:
“Madrid, June 21, 2023.- Air Europa reorganizes its operations with Argentina and will activate a new route between Madrid and the city of Córdoba, a connection that until now was made with a stop in Asunción.
The airline will start flying to this destination with three weekly frequencies from Madrid, thus maintaining connectivity and responding to existing demand. Likewise, this programming is accompanied by the cancellation, as of next July 15, of the flight that connected the Paraguayan capital, Asunción, with Córdoba.
These measures seek to maintain the provision of the service with Argentina and Paraguay, adapting, in turn, to compliance with what is established by the Spanish Government regarding the regulation of the company’s flights.
To ensure the guarantees of passengers at all times, both customers who were flying between Asunción and Córdoba, and between Madrid and Asunción, and who may be affected by the change in established frequencies, Air Europa has contacted them to offer them various alternatives.
The airline will continue to operate both its flights to Córdoba and Asunción with its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, the most modern and efficient on the market, which combines maximum passenger comfort with lower fuel consumption and up to 20% fewer emissions than other models”.
