French Insecurity Barometer: Government Trust Drops and Concerns Rise

The majority (53%) of the French population feels insecure, often (12%) or from time to time (41%), according to a barometer from the Odoxa institute, unveiled on Monday.

Alongside these figures, only 27% of French people have confidence in the government to fight once morest burglaries or assaults. They are 36% to trust him in the fight once morest terrorism, 2 points less than in April.

According to the same survey, only 34% of the French population considers that the security of elected officials is well respected. The tumble compared to January 2022 is dry: 9 points less than at the start of last year.

On the contrary, ministers, deputies and senators see their security well assured for 84% of French people, according to the same source.

The survey also reveals that the French are almost unanimous on the insecurity of the various actors in political life: 86% of them believe that they are more threatened than before, 29% even consider that their security is much less guaranteed, i.e. 4 points more than in January 2022.
