Earthquakes in Northern Morocco: Updates, Impacts, and Areas Affected

According to an alert from the national seismic and geophysical monitoring network, the epicenter was located in the commune of Ighil in the province of Al Haouz. The tremor would also have been felt in Gibraltar, Mauritania, Portugal, Spain and Algeria.

A first followingshock of magnitude 4.8 was recorded 26 km south of Casablanca, around 20 minutes following the first tremor. Tremors of magnitude 3.3 and 4.9 were also recorded in Taroudant and Marrakech.
