Austria’s men’s and women’s national table tennis teams lost their opening encounters at the European Team Championships in Malmö. The men lost 1:3 to Croatia, the female selection had to admit defeat 0:3 to Germany without individual European champion Sofia Polcanova Germany. Both still have a chance of reaching the round of 16 on Tuesday once morest Switzerland (4 p.m., men) and England (7 p.m., women).
