Big drug hunt in Dubai Dubai police seized Captagon tablets worth Dhs 387 crore. Six members of the drug trafficking gang were arrested. The drugs were hidden in the doors and panels used in the construction of the house. The police also released the video footage of the operation.
The massive drug hunt was called ‘Operation Storm’. UAE Interior Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan released the information regarding the operation. The banned pills were hidden in 651 doors and 432 window panes in five shipping containers.
The police started the mission following receiving a tip-off that there was a container containing prohibited items on a cargo ship that had reached the coast of UAE. The gang’s plan was to smuggle the drugs to another country following bringing them to the UAE. The members of the smuggling gang were caught by the police one following the other while trying to transfer the shipping containers that arrived at the port to the industrial area.
