A paraplegic person was fatally injured Friday in Laval, following the minibus transporting her braked suddenly.
The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. near the intersection of Route 335 and Highway 19. For reasons still unknown, the driver of a minibus transporting disabled people braked suddenly.
It was at this moment that one of the occupants, who was paraplegic, fell. Unable to get up, the latter was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, said the Laval Police Department.
An investigation has been opened to understand the causes and circumstances surrounding this event.
