Algeria caught up to Egypt (1-1) in a friendly this Monday evening. But one image will remain in the memory, that of the Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi who grabs Saïd Benrahma as he leaves. A gesture which visibly follows the refusal of the West Ham player to shake his hand.
Established on the left wing of the Algerian attack, Benrahma was replaced in the 63rd minute of play by Houssem Aouar, just after Hamdi Fathi’s goal for Egypt (62nd). Reduced to ten since the expulsion of Mohamed Hany (26th), the Pharaohs cracked in the final moments, conceding the equalizing goal from Islam Slimani on a cross from Nice’s Youcef Atal (90th+3).
