Hallow’s End comes with a nice surprise from Blizzard. Indeed, WoW players can obtain full access to the old version of the Scarlet Monastery and thus enter the 4 wings of the Vanilla version of the instance. Here is the procedure to follow 😉
Access to Vanilla Scarlet Monastery
During Hallow’s Eve:
Queue up to face the Headless Horseman. Kill him and loot the Pumpkin Filled with Loot. Open the pumpkin, it has a chance to contain The Scarlet Key. The Headless Horseman’s Hard Mode seems much more generous, so activate it – see below). Once the key is in your bag, head to the Scarlet Monastery in Tirisfal Glades. Just before entering the Grand vestibule, you will see a bunch of keys on your left. It allows you to launch a quest. Validate the quest and presto, it’s finished! To access the old dungeons, click on the keychain. A “Scarlet Key” buff will appear at the top of the screen, which means that when passing through portals you will enter the old version of dungeons, including those blocked by a door. If you want to revert to the version Modern Dungeons, click on the keychain once more to remove the buff.
Access is account-related, so you only have to do it once for all of your characters!
How to activate Headless Horseman Hard Mode?
Upon entering the instance, head to the left. You will see 4 small wrecks and one large one. Click on the small scum and activate the curses. They make the fight more difficult because you have to avoid AoEs and curses.
A priori, and it worked for me, activate the 4 curses to greatly increase your chances of recovering the Scarlet Key.
