Two people, domiciled in the Paris region and “likely to be linked to the author of the attack” committed on October 16 in Brussels, were presented Monday to a Parisian investigating judge, AFP learned from the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (Pnat).
This judge must now decide on their possible indictment for criminal terrorist association. The Pnat requested their pre-trial detention.
Investigations “are continuing to clarify the links” of the two suspects with Abdesalem Lassoued, a radicalized 45-year-old Tunisian, who killed two Swedes when they came to support their national football team.
The assailant, who had been the subject of an extradition request from Tunisia for more than a year, was shot dead on October 17 by Belgian police.
Following information “transmitted by the Belgian judicial authorities”, the Pnat opened an investigation on October 17, 2023 into the head of a criminal terrorist association.
