Further information

The theater maker and cabaret artist Xaver Schumacher presents cover versions of ancient legends – humorous and political. In Schumacher’s Metamorphoses, Medusa becomes Metoosa, the Odyssey becomes a shopping trip, the Trojan War becomes the birth of mass tourism and parricide Oedipus becomes the pioneer of Fridays for Future. Contemporary themes reflected in antiquity – and vice versa. Because where can you find answers to all your questions? In the oracle of Selfie, there is logos! Cultural appropriation at its finest.

The stage artist Xaver Schumacher writes, acts and directs plays, cabaret programs and show formats. Works in the collective Postmodern Talking. Most recently published: Ischgl (cabaret) and Fake it till you make it (theater).
