What happened this Saturday followingnoon? At around 2:45 p.m., a lifeless body was found in the ditch near the D’Helst carwash in Lebbeke.
The victim is a man in his sixties, according to HLN. His bicycle was also found at the scene. An investigation has been opened and surveillance cameras in the area will be analyzed.
Mayor Jan Vanderstraeten spoke following the macabre discovery: “It is an unfortunate and tragic accident. As mayor, I am shocked that this happened here and I wish the family a lot of strength.”
