Abu Dhabi: Reportedly, the UAE will continue diplomatic relations with Israel even as the Gaza crisis continues to escalate. The UAE’s position is that there is no need to sever ties with the Israeli forces in Gaza. The UAE started diplomatic relations with Israel under the Abraham Accords signed in 2020 with the mediation of the United States. Since then, both countries have increased cooperation in economic and security matters.

UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last month. Reports also state that the UAE is ready for extensive negotiations with Israel once the war ends.
