In a press release published on the night of Monday, November 21, 2023, Minister Charles Wright ordered the Attorney General to initiate legal proceedings once morest former President Alpha Condé and Fodé Moussa Mara known as “General El Sisi”.
They are accused of alleged acts of “treason, criminal conspiracy and complicity in the illegal possession of weapons and ammunition”.
Guinee360.com collected the reactions of officials of the former ruling party. “Alpha Condé formally prohibited us from commenting on this parody of Charles Wright,” a member of the RPG National Political Bureau told us.
“As far as the army is concerned, we don’t interfere, we don’t worry, we don’t comment, it’s not our problem. We only make value judgments on political affairs,” added another close to Alpha Condé.
The Minister of Justice is not his first prosecution once morest Alpha Condé. In May 2022, he instructed the general prosecutor’s office to initiate further proceedings once morest the ex-president for alleged acts of “assassinations, acts of torture, kidnappings and rapes”.
Legal proceedings which, until now, have had no effect on the person concerned who also lives in exile in Turkey.
