Kaduna: 58 civilians were accidentally killed in a drone attack by Nigerian forces. Civilians were killed in the attack on the rebels. The incident took place in the northern part of Nigeria, which has been gripped by armed groups. The drone targeted those gathered at the Prophet’s kirtan meeting in Igabi council area of Kaduna state.
The National Emergency Agency confirmed the death of 85 people and said that the search is continuing. Amnesty International stated that around 120 people were killed. Most of the dead are children and women. This is the latest in a series of misguided attacks in Nigeria’s troubled region. In February 2014, 20 civilians were killed in an attack in Burno.
