Following the incidents, a train station was evacuated to ensure the safe passage of trains carrying AEK supporters, reported the Dutch public broadcaster NOS. Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema was quoted by NOS as saying the incidents were “a blemish on an exciting evening of football that Ajax fans thoroughly enjoyed.”
