The accident occurred at 8:00 a.m. on the Steenweg in Denderleeuw. The fifty-year-old and the two children, aged 3 and 11, were crossing the zebra crossing when they were hit by a truck in maneuver. The three victims were taken to hospital, from where the two children were quickly released. The adult is in critical condition, according to the prosecution.
The truck driver was not driving under the influence. His driving license was revoked for 15 days. An expert still needs to clarify the facts.
