In 2021, 4.2 million people were identified as diabetic by health insurance in France. On the other hand, 3.6 million people benefited from medication treatment, or 5.4% of the French population. Worldwide, the prevalence rate is 6.1%, which makes diabetes one of the ten main causes of disability and mortality worldwide. In other words, diabetes affects a large part of the population, and tech companies seem to want to contribute to a potential solution.
