For its last Berlinale opening, the outgoing management duo Mariette Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian really threw themselves into action. Unlike last year, there were hardly any embarrassing mishaps this year. Here and there you weren’t sure where to sit on the banana-shaped stage couch, but overall it was a successful start to the 74th Berlinale.
