ALGIERS – Minister of Finance, Laaziz Faid, paid, Tuesday, a working and inspection visit to the Company for Automation of Interbank Transactions and Monetics (SATIM), where he received presentations on advances in matter of digitalization and the digitization of interbank transactions and electronic banking, said a press release from the ministry.
During this visit, the Minister of Finance was welcomed by the Chairman and CEO of SATIM and his management team, said the same source, stressing that “this approach is part of an initiative aimed at encouraging interaction between all services of the Ministry of Finance and also the intensification of coordination while generalizing the application of the principles of good governance in public finances.
During this visit, Mr. Faid had the opportunity to hear exhaustive presentations presented by SATIM officials, which focused on crucial subjects such as the certification of electronic payment terminals (TPE), the implementation information systems as well as the operation of Switch mobile, according to the press release.
These presentations provided a deeper understanding of the technological issues and current challenges of this society.
The discussions also focused on advances in digitalization and digitization in the field of interbank transactions and electronic banking, as well as on the future prospects of this strategic structure, the ministry said.
The Minister of Finance underlined, on this occasion, the strategic importance of SATIM, specifying that this institution plays a role as a capital instrument at the heart of the digitization program of the Finance sector.
He particularly welcomed the support and proven expertise of SATIM in the field of electronic banking, stressing that these efforts will contribute to modernizing and optimizing financial services, aligned with international standards.
He also took this opportunity to recall the importance of developing the use of electronic payment means in the country, while calling on “all stakeholders to work jointly to promote innovative initiatives and support the sustainable development of the financial sector, in order to remain at the forefront of technological developments and to guarantee an environment conducive to the prosperity of the sector and the national economy.
