Berlin – 16 months before the next federal election, the co-governing Liberals of the German traffic light coalition are threatening to quit. “I can only make an urgent appeal from here: start talks with us. Because if there are no talks, there will be no future for this coalition,” said FDP deputy leader Wolfgang Kubicki on Saturday at the FDP party conference in Berlin. Kubicki was referring to the FDP economic reform concept, which has caused outrage among the SPD and the Greens.
