“Kaptaan We Love You” was written on Ronaldo’s shirt with a picture of Imran Khan.
This photo was posted on August 31 by an X-user named Chaudhry Shahzad Gul who appears to be a PTI supporter based on his past posts.
It should be noted that Patwari is the name given to land revenue officials in Punjab, but this term is used as a derogatory term for Muslim League (N) supporters.
The same photo was also shared by other X users who Here Can also be seen, as well Facebook And Youtube As other platforms also had this image.
When a fact-check was launched to determine the truth behind this viral photo of the football legend and former prime minister, things turned out to be different.
A reverse image search to investigate the image revealed a post by a fan account of the football star on social media platform X on 6 May 2016, with the caption, ‘Cristiano Ronaldo Rafael. Motova sees quarter-final between Nadal and Joao Sosa at Madrid Open’
The photos attached to the post show Ronaldo wearing the same plain white T-shirt during the match.
Additionally, a keyword search for “Ronaldo” and “Leather Jacket” yielded a news item from the British tabloid “The Daily Mail”, originally dated 6 May 2016.
The report included an actual photo of the footballer in a black leather jacket over a plain white t-shirt that did not specifically feature Imran or anyone else.
So a fact check proves that Ronaldo’s claim of wearing a t-shirt in support of Imran is false.
