THE iconic Brno circuit in the Czech Republic is confirmed to return as a MotoGP host in the 2025 season calendar.
This marks the return of the Czech Republic as a MotoGP venue after a four-year absence.
Brno itself has hosted more than 50 races since its MotoGP debut in 1965. Brno last hosted a Grand Prix in 2020.
Local council members said at the time that the city could not afford the necessary track repairs due to financial hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, Brno is confirmed to have signed a five-year deal to remain on the MotoGP calendar, at least until 2029.
“Motorcycle racing has a tradition at the Brno Masaryk Circuit since the 1950s,” Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala was quoted as saying by BetweenFriday (30/8).
“MotoGP is a prestigious global event that brings tens of thousands of visitors to the Czech Republic. I am very happy that we managed to continue this tradition and that the MotoGP race will return to Brno (after four years),” he added. (Z-6)
