**Interview with Giorgos Gavrilos**
**Interviewer**: Good morning, Mr. Gavrilos. Thank you for joining us today. You recently announced your resignation as SYRIZA’s parliamentary representative. Can you tell us what led to this decision?
**Giorgos Gavrilos**: Good morning, and thank you for having me. My resignation stems from a deep dissatisfaction with the direction our party has taken over the last two months. After discussions with the president of the parliamentary group, Nikos Pappa, I felt it was crucial to step back from my responsibilities to highlight these issues.
**Interviewer**: You mentioned a “mistake” made by the party. Could you elaborate on what this mistake was and how it impacted your role?
**Giorgos Gavrilos**: Certainly. The mistakes involved strategic decisions that did not resonate with our base or address the pressing issues facing our constituents. This created a disconnect that I believe undermined our effectiveness as a party.
**Interviewer**: Despite your resignation, you are still a member of SYRIZA. What are your plans moving forward within the party?
**Giorgos Gavrilos**: I remain committed to SYRIZA and its core values. My aim is to continue advocating for the principles we stand for and work collaboratively with my colleagues to steer the party back on track.
**Interviewer**: Lastly, your resignation comes at a time of turmoil within the party. What do you think has been the overall impact of these changes on SYRIZA’s image and future?
**Giorgos Gavrilos**: The current atmosphere is complex. The recent developments, including my resignation, are part of a broader dialog that needs to happen. It’s vital for us to reflect on our strategies and maintain the trust of the electorate. I believe we can rebuild if we listen and respond effectively to our base’s concerns.
