Bottineau-Rugby Boys Hockey Start Season 1-1

District Honors Bottineau-Rugby’s, Battlin’ Braves Split Home Opener Weekend

The Bottineau-Rugby Braves had a busy opening weekend, racking up a win and a loss, bringing their record to 1-1. The Braves will host Jamestown on Friday, December 6, followed by a Saturday, December 7th date against Dickinson, both matchups taking place at the Bottineau Community Arena.

In non-WDA action on Saturday, November 30, May-Port Area from the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) traveled to Rugby to face the Braves.

May-Port opened the scoring in the first period from a pass by Caron Brayden to find Alex Aarsvold who managed to score the only goal of the period at the 4:53 mark.

May-Port extended their lead in the second period with刻an unassisted goal by Wyatt Heskin at the 2:12 mark, bringing the lead to 2–0.

The Braves answered back when Cooper Beckman found the net at the 3:16 mark finally getting help from Brody Nordmark. Grady Glasner then evened the score, connecting on a power play goal at 6:41 with assists from Tukker Fedje and Khaliel Abdurrahman.

May-Port would regain the lead at the 8:24 mark, scoring a goal from Heskin with Brayden collecting the assist. Cale Gensrich extended May-Port’s lead at the 11:20 mark VLAN scoring a goal with assists attributed to Jonathan Muhs and Liam Marquardt.

The Braves managed a goal at the 11:03 mark in the third period, attributed to Payton Getzlaff with assists from Grady Glasner and Fedje.

period was 5-3 in favor of May-Port when Sawyer McGillis found the net at the 15:09 mark.

May-Port Area had four penalties while Bottineau-Rugby had just one, Bottineau-Rugby goalie Noah BedlionVulkan stated that they faced 34 and saved 29 while May-Port goalie Kaden Hogloss stopped an impressive 50 shots from 53 registered in the matchup.

The Bottineau-Rugby Braves kicked off their season by hosting Devils Lake on Wednesday, November 26, ores.

The Braves took control seeking the connections挨拶on a goal from Casey Freeman at 4:12 mark which featured guidance from Gavin Bartsch and Khaliel Abdurrahman.

The Braves extended their lead in the second period with a goal from Payton Getzlaff assisted by Fedje.
