Vincent, congratulations on such a historic goal. How does it feel to score on your first league outing and become Dundalk’s youngest ever goalscorer?
“It feels absolutely incredible. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my time with Dundalk. Having the chance to pull on this jersey and score in front of our amazing fans, it’s a dream come true.”
The goal was a fantastic header, showing real power and composure. Was there any specific thought going through your head when you met the cross?
“to be honest, I was just focused on getting my head on the ball. Aodh (Dervin) delivered a brilliant cross,and I knew I had to attack it with everything I had. Luckily, it found the back of the net!”
Dundalk controlled the game well, despite failing to add more goals. How would you rate your overall performance?
“I think we played well as a team. We moved the ball well, created some good chances, but we just need to be more clinical in front of goal.”
The manager, Ciarán Kilduff, is known for developing young talent.How have you found his leadership style and the overall habitat at the club?
“The gaffer has been fantastic with me. He’s given me great confidence and belief in my abilities. The whole squad has been really welcoming and supportive, making the transition to this level much easier.”
Looking ahead, what are your personal ambitions for this season, and how confident are you in dundalk’s ability to achieve its goal of returning to the Premier Division in 2026?
“My main goal is to keep learning and improving as a player. To contribute as much as I can to the team. We are all determined to get back to the Premier League for the club’s centenary, and I believe we have the squad to do it.”
