Breaking: Assoparci Unveiled as New Face of Italian Amusement Parks Industry

In a groundbreaking move, Assoparci has officially launched as the new associative reality spearheading the Italian amusement parks industry. The announcement comes as the sector heralds the summer season, bringing together over 400 Italian attractions ranging from theme and aquatic parks to fauna and experiential destinations.

Revamping an Industry Powerhouse

Assoparci builds upon the legacy of the Italian Permanent Parks Association, formed in 1988. This new entity not only preserves the rich history but also expands its scope, making it the definitive point of reference for over 400 Italian attractions. The sector, which hosts more than 22 million visitors annually, is a testament to its significance in Italy’s experience economy.

Investing in Growth and Sustainability

Industry experts have highlighted an impressive 47% increase in investments in 2025. This surge amounts to 220 million euros, with 40 million designated for energy-efficient projects. By 2027, investments are projected to exceed 500 million euros, underscoring a commitment to sustainable development.

Strengthening Strategic Partnerships

Assoparci is bolstering its impact by joining forces with Acted (Italian General Association of Entertainment) and Federturismo-Confindustria. These strategic alliances aim to enhance dialogue with the live show and tourism sectors. The “Park+Hotel” formula is touted as a key driver, generating millions of overnight stays and integrating amusement parks deeply with Italy’s tourism landscape.

The New Leadership

Luciano Pareschi has been confirmed as the president of Assoparci, with Maurizio Crisanti stepping into the role of director. Their leadership ensures continuity while steering the sector toward future innovations. “Italian parks today are dynamic entrepreneurial realities that create economic, social, and cultural value for the country,” Pareschi remarked.

Economic and Employment Impact

With a ticket office turnover of 400 million euros, amusement parks are major economic drivers. They generate over 2 billion euros in induced spending, encompassing restaurants, hotels, and various services. Additionally, the sector supports more than 60,000 jobs, both direct and indirect, reinforcing its role in territorial economics and employment.

Evergreen Context and Future Implications

For decades, amusement parks in Italy have been pivotal tourist attractions, drawing locals and international visitors alike. Assoparci’s formation not only settles the sector in the present but strategically positions it for future growth. Energy-efficient investments and strategic partnerships are pivotal steps toward a sustainable and integrated tourism model, promising lasting benefits for the national economy and job market.
