Berlin, June 18, 2025 – Germany is doubling down on its commitment to sustainable food systems. The Federal Ministry Of Agriculture, Food And Home (BMLEH) has unveiled key research priorities to propel the nation’s ecological agriculture and food industry into a future-proof era.
These priorities, developed through a two-year participatory process, aim to foster innovation, bolster climate protection, conserve resources, and enhance the security of food supply, securing the central role of ecological agriculture in the nation’s food strategy.

A twelve-member competence team, alongside 60 experts from diverse fields including science, practical application, advisory services, and business, contributed to identifying concrete challenges and shaping research directions across eleven key areas.
