Road Buckles Reported in St. Francis
On Monday, June 23, the westbound lanes of East Howard Avenue in St. Francis, just east of South Kinnickinnic Avenue experienced severe pavement failure. The intense heat caused the road to buckle, creating a hazardous situation for drivers, according to local authorities.

Law enforcement and public works teams responded swiftly, blocking off the affected roadway and establishing a detour to reroute traffic. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek option routes.
Additional Buckling Incidents Across Southeast Wisconsin
The problems aren’t isolated to St. Francis. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) reported that the two left lanes of northbound wisconsin 175 were shut down due to pavement damage.A seperate incident occurred on Highway 60 in Hartford, where buckled pavement also led to traffic disruptions.
