Apple TV+ is bolstering its thriller lineup with the return of “The Last Thing He Told Me” and the premiere of “Imperfect Women” in the coming weeks. Both series are based on bestselling novels and feature star-studded casts, offering viewers a compelling slate of suspenseful programming.
“The Last Thing He Told Me,” starring Jennifer Garner, captivated audiences with its mystery and emotional depth. Following the success of its initial run in 2024, a second season will debut on Friday, February 20, with latest episodes released weekly through April 10. This season is based on Laura Dave’s sequel novel, “The First Time I Saw Him,” continuing the story of Hannah Hall as she navigates a complex web of secrets and relationships.
The new season finds Hannah (Jennifer Garner) and her stepdaughter Bailey (Angourie Rice) facing a new challenge when Owen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) unexpectedly reappears after five years. According to Apple TV+, they “find themselves in a race to figure out how to reunite their family before the past catches up to them.” Viewers can revisit the first season of “The Last Thing He Told Me” on Apple TV+ here.
Alongside “The Last Thing He Told Me,” Apple TV+ will premiere “Imperfect Women” on Wednesday, March 18. This eight-episode psychological thriller, based on the novel by Araminta Hall, boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington, Kate Mara, Joel Kinnaman, Corey Stoll, and Leslie Odom Jr.
“Imperfect Women” Explores Decades of Secrets
Created and showrun by Annie Weisman, who too helmed Apple TV’s dark comedy “Physical,” “Imperfect Women” delves into the aftermath of a crime that unravels the lives of three women and their long-standing friendship. The series explores themes of guilt, retribution, love, and betrayal, questioning the true nature of even the closest bonds. Apple describes the series as examining how “the compromises we create irrevocably alter our lives.”
The premiere will consist of two episodes, with subsequent episodes released weekly through April 29. Readers interested in the source material can find the novel here.
Apple TV+ is available for $12.99 per month, or as part of the Apple One bundle.
As both series prepare to launch, viewers can anticipate a compelling blend of mystery, suspense, and emotional drama. The upcoming releases underscore Apple TV+’s commitment to delivering high-quality, character-driven thrillers to its audience.
