Corey Parker Dies: ‘Will & Grace,’ ‘Friday the 13th’ Actor Was 60

Corey Parker, a character actor known for his roles in “Will &amp. Grace,” “Friday the 13th: A New Beginning,” and “Love Boat: The Next Wave,” has died. He was 60 years old.

Parker passed away on Thursday in Memphis, Tennessee, after a battle with cancer, his family confirmed. The news marks a loss for the entertainment industry, remembered for his versatility across television and film.

His sister, Noelle, shared a heartfelt statement via BGB Studio, saying, “I believe he left this world weightless, at peace & surrounded with love. All our lives are so much richer for knowing you, and you carry on in each of us, and in what you gifted and inspired in us… forever.”

Born into a theatrical family as the son of actress Rocky Parker, Corey Parker began his acting journey at the young age of four, continuing to hone his craft throughout his adolescence. His early television credits include an appearance in a 1983 episode of As the World Turns, followed by his film debut in 1984’s Scream for Help.

Early Film Roles and Horror Franchise

Parker gained wider recognition in 1985 with his role in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, the fifth installment in the iconic horror-slasher franchise. He continued to build a diverse filmography, appearing in projects such as 9 1/2 Weeks, Biloxi Blues, and The Rainmaker, among others.

On television, Parker demonstrated his range with appearances in several popular series. Parker is perhaps best known for his five-episode arc on the acclaimed comedy Will & Grace in 2000, solidifying his presence in television comedy. His television work concluded with an appearance in one episode of Nashville in 2014.

Transition to Acting Coach

Beyond his on-screen work, Parker established himself as a respected acting coach beginning in 2000. He shared his expertise at Duke University, Rhodes College, and the University of Memphis. He also contributed his talents to the 2022 Marvel series Ms. Marvel, demonstrating his continued involvement in the industry.
