Eisenstadt, Austria – A powerful exhibition titled “Schön. Stark. Sichtbar.” (Beautiful. Strong. Visible.) opened at the KUZ Eisenstadt on March 7, 2026, offering a deeply personal and moving portrayal of women’s experiences with cancer. The exhibition, organized by the non-profit organization Feel Again, features portraits and deeply personal narratives from seven women who have faced or are currently battling the disease. It aims to foster understanding, solidarity and hope within the community.
The exhibition isn’t simply about the illness itself, but about the entirety of life lived alongside cancer. Through striking photography and honest storytelling, the women share their journeys – from the initial diagnosis and treatment to the ongoing challenges and triumphs of life afterward. The project seeks to illuminate the often-hidden strength, resilience, and emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis, and to remind those affected that they are not alone.
Feel Again was founded in 2018 with the mission of providing strength and self-confidence to women facing cancer, offering free wellness sessions, makeup services, and photoshoots designed to create special moments for body, mind, and soul, according to the organization’s website feelagain.at. This exhibition represents a significant step in amplifying the voices of these women and raising awareness about the realities of living with cancer.
A Space for Sharing and Connection
The core of “Schön. Stark. Sichtbar.” lies in the intimate portraits and accompanying texts. Each woman bravely shares her story, detailing moments of diagnosis, the rigors of therapy, and the everyday realities of living with cancer. They speak candidly about the changes they’ve experienced, the support they’ve received, the courage they’ve found, and the wisdom they wish to impart to others facing similar challenges. As one of the participants shared, the exhibition is about revealing not just a face, but “their innermost and most private self – THEIR story, their fears, their hopes, but likewise their strength and incredible courage… simply their life.”
Photographer Laura Jagoschütz emphasized the importance of capturing the vulnerability and strength of the women. “For me as a photographer, We see very special that these ladies have agreed to show themselves in front of my camera as they are: beautiful, strong, but also vulnerable,” she stated. “By sharing their stories and portraits, we want to give courage to others and show them that they are never alone.”
The Team Behind the Project
The exhibition is a testament to the dedication of a team of volunteers. Catharina Flieger, founder of Feel Again and a makeup artist, and Laura Jagoschütz, the photographer, spearheaded the project’s conception, planning, and execution. Birgit Ehrenreich, also a founder of Feel Again and a photographer, generously provided her studio in St. Margarethen for the photoshoot and captured behind-the-scenes images. Brigitte Fischer documented the opening receptions, while Cornelia Graner and Sabine Wagenhofer provided makeup artistry for the participants. The entire team worked on a voluntary basis, driven by a deep respect for the women whose stories are being shared.
Future Plans and Continued Support
The exhibition is scheduled to travel to various locations across different Austrian states through the end of 2026, with upcoming dates to be announced on Feel Again’s social media channels and website www.feelagain.at. Beyond raising awareness, the exhibition aims to increase the visibility of Feel Again and garner support for its ongoing work with women affected by cancer. The organization also offers “wellness hours” – a space for open conversation, understanding, and appreciation.
The intention of the exhibition, as stated by the organizers, is to invite viewers to look, listen, and feel. “Behind every diagnosis is a person who lives, loves, laughs, fights, and hopes,” they explain. The exhibition serves as a meeting place for exchange and a symbol of solidarity, strengthening awareness of the everyday lives of women living with cancer.
