Gongdan Fire Station held a workplace education and training session on March 10, 2026, focusing on establishing public service discipline and fostering a culture of integrity, officials said.
The training program covered a range of topics including the Public Official Ethics Act and the 119 Fire Service Code of Conduct, anti-corruption measures, confidential information handling, prevention of workplace bullying, prevention of drunk driving, and prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace.
Prior to the training, personnel participated in a resolution reaffirming their commitment to preventing workplace bullying and fostering a fair and healthy organizational culture.
“As public servants, adhering to basic principles and ethics is paramount,” said Fire Station Chief Heo Seok-gyeong. “We will continue to provide ongoing education to build a clean and trustworthy fire service organization.”
The training at Gongdan Fire Station mirrors similar initiatives undertaken by other fire departments across the country. According to a report from the Dong-A Economic Daily on March 9, 2026, the Gyeongyang Fire Station also conducted a workplace education and training session for its personnel, emphasizing public service discipline, integrity, and improved internal communication. The Gyeongyang training included instruction on preventing drunk driving and a leadership course for fire service managers, as reported by the Dong-A Economic Daily and the Sobang News.
The Sobang News reported that Song Tae-cheol, head of the Gyeongyang Fire Station, stated, “Through regular workplace education and training, we will establish public service discipline and enhance the professionalism and integrity of the organization to become a fire service that citizens can trust.”
The Safe Today newspaper reported on March 9, 2026, that the Gyeongyang Fire Station’s training also included instruction on managing underground integrated surveillance facilities and measures for preventing wildfires.
