Phaedra Parks: 20+ Years as a Practicing Attorney

Phaedra Parks, the attorney and television personality known for her appearances on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta and more recently Married to Medicine, affirmed her continued commitment to the practice of law, stating, “Practicing attorney for over 20 years…I love the law, it’s my first love.” Parks made the statement whereas balancing her legal career with a prominent role in reality television and social activism.

Parks, a fourth-generation graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, currently serves as the managing partner of The Parks Group, an Atlanta-based law firm. Her legal specialties include entertainment law, intellectual property rights, and civil and criminal litigation, according to available information. She was recognized with an Attorney of the Year award in 2006.

Beyond her firm, Parks has been a vocal advocate for social justice issues, particularly those affecting African-American youth. Through the Phaedra Foundation, she works with communities nationwide, offering scholarships for minority law students at the University of Georgia and fellowships at Morehouse College. She has actively participated in protests and demonstrations addressing social injustices in cities including Selma, Alabama, and Flint, Michigan, and Washington, D.C., and has engaged with members of Congress to promote initiatives for at-risk youth.

Parks’s advocacy extends to representing families impacted by high-profile cases of violence, including those of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. She attended Wesleyan College before pursuing her Juris Doctor degree.

In 2024, Parks appeared as a contestant on the second season of The Traitors US, gaining recognition for her strategic gameplay. She likewise starred in the second season of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip in 2022 and joined the cast of Married to Medicine in 2023, continuing through 2025. She previously appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta from 2010 to 2017 and rejoined the cast in 2024.

Parks delivered a commencement speech at the University of Georgia School of Law, further highlighting her ongoing connection to the legal community.
