Israel Strikes: Dimona & Natanz Nuclear Facilities Targeted – Video

An Iranian missile struck the Israeli town of Dimona, home to a nuclear facility, on Saturday, injuring dozens in what Tehran described as retaliation for recent strikes on its Natanz nuclear complex. At least 39 people were wounded in Dimona, including a 10-year-old boy in critical condition with shrapnel wounds, according to Israeli emergency services. Another 88 were injured in the nearby city of Arad.

The attack represents a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, marking a direct exchange of strikes targeting nuclear-associated infrastructure. Iran’s state television reported the strikes as a “response” to an earlier attack on the Natanz enrichment complex, which Iranian officials have blamed on the United States and Israel. The Natanz facility was reportedly targeted with massive bombardments on Friday night and Saturday morning.

Dimona hosts a facility widely believed to possess the Middle East’s sole nuclear arsenal, though Israel has never officially acknowledged its existence. Images circulating in Israeli media showed an object falling from the sky before impacting the town. The Israeli military confirmed a “direct missile hit on a building” in Dimona and stated that air defense systems were activated, but failed to intercept all incoming missiles.

According to reports, Iran employed hypersonic missiles in the retaliatory strike. The utilize of such weaponry is intended to demonstrate Tehran’s ability to penetrate advanced air defense systems and reach heavily protected areas. This escalation follows earlier U.S.-Israel operations targeting Iran’s Bushehr nuclear facility in the days preceding the Natanz strike, suggesting a broadening scope of retaliation by Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the attacks a “difficult” evening for Israel and vowed continued action against Iran, where previous U.S.-Israeli strikes have resulted in over 1,500 casualties, including more than 200 children, according to Iranian state media. The Israeli military spokesman acknowledged the missiles were not “special or unfamiliar,” but did not elaborate on the effectiveness of the interception attempts.

The attacks on Dimona and Arad have resulted in extensive damage, particularly in Arad’s city center. Paramedic Karmel Cohen described “extensive damage and chaos at the scene” in Dimona. Iran has signaled that any future strikes on its nuclear program will be met with pressure on Israel’s most sensitive strategic sites, reinforcing a deterrence cycle centered on nuclear-associated targets.

As of Saturday evening, no official statement has been released by the United States government regarding the Iranian strikes on Dimona and Arad. The Iranian atomic energy organization has maintained that there was “no leakage of radioactive materials reported” following the attack on Natanz.
