a baby narrowly escapes sudden death (Lasne)

It is a device slipped under the mattress on which the little girl slept which probably made it possible to avoid the worst.

Strong emotion, last Tuesday, at the nursery The Little Bears, in Lasne, where a three-month-old girl narrowly escaped sudden death syndrome, which intervenes in infant sleep. This day Tuesday “was the worst day of my lifesays the director of the nursery, Anaïs de Ville De Goyet, on a Facebook post. It’s been 18 years since I opened my little magical house in Lasne and I take care of my loves as if they were mine…”

Tuesday, the little girl was sleeping in a bed and it was the ringing of a device slipped under the mattress that gave the alert. This device detects whether the child is breathing normally. The bell rang and “I ran to wake the little one, but there, impossible. She was already purple, her little heart was no longer beating. I quickly gave cardiac massage and mouth-to-mouth, without letting go…”

Fortunately, the heart started to beat again and the little one started to breathe again, before help arrived.

The device that gave the alert “is not mandatory in nursery, many people don’t know, some pediatricians talk about a gadget… the director also confided to us on Friday. Our crèche is equipped with it and we have never had an alert like Tuesday’s.”

Since this incident, the nursery has acquired new beds, smaller and more adapted to the device which, on Tuesday, has, it seems, made it possible to avoid the worst.
