A bodega in the sky between Paris and Barcelona to celebrate the partnership between Vueling Airlines and France Rugby!

Rugby… third half… bodega… the association of ideas seems natural. A bodega in the sky, on the other hand, is immediately more surprising. This is however what happened this Friday, June 23 during a flight between Paris-Orly and Barcelona.

Sportsmarketing.fr was present at this very high altitude bodega which activates the partnership between the French Rugby Federation and Vueling Airlines, which became on February 9, 2023 Official Supplier and the official company of France Rugby, of the women’s and men’s XVs of France and of the French rugby sevens teams. This agreement gives Vueling a wide playing field in terms of communication and exclusive visibility in the world of sport in France for a period of 3 years.

Fanfares around the boarding gate, quiz on the plane, ola, musical entertainment, special Rugby World Cup kit… everything came together for a memorable bodega. Just before boarding a plane in the colors of the partnership, we were able to discuss with Damian PenaudBlues winger and Vueling ambassador.

Bruno Cammalleri: How does it feel to be an ambassador for Vueling?

Damian Penaud : Given that Vueling is a partner of the French Rugby Federation, it is a real pride to have been chosen as an ambassador. It is very rewarding! We have very good things to do with Vueling and with the French Rugby Federation during the coming year with many deadlines. We are delighted to travel with them and I am committed to representing them well.

Bruno Cammalleri: Who said the rooster couldn’t fly?

Damian Penaud : this slogan is very well found! I couldn’t have said it better!

Bruno Cammalleri: Who says Vueling says trips, so what were your most beautiful trips made in the context of rugby trips?

Damian Penaud : There were many, but here I have in mind New Zealand and Noumea with very long flights and sublime landscapes. It was really cool, we had a great time. During the flights, we played cards, we slept, ate, etc. In general, I like to travel, especially when I’m with my friends, of course it goes faster and it’s more fun.

Bruno Cammalleri: The trip you would like to take but haven’t done yet…

Damian Penaud : I would love to go to Ibiza! Especially after this Paris-Barcelona flight, we won’t be very far. Who knows, why not!

Bruno Cammalleri: How do you choose your sponsors?

Damian Penaud : I have my agent looking after this matter so that I can fully focus my time and energy on rugby. Then, we don’t discuss all the requests he may receive, but we try to sort out the requests because I don’t want to scatter myself over too many things. I really want to be able to fully concentrate on rugby. Sometimes it can happen to me to refuse the solicitation of a brand, either because I don’t feel the need, or because I’m not in tune with the brand.

Bruno Cammalleri: How do you manage your social networks?

Damian Penaud : I’m not on social media very often, but I’m in charge. I don’t put a lot of content there because I’m not very social media. But I still try to feed them as much as possible.

Bruno Cammalleri: How do you feel a few weeks before the World Cup?

Damian Penaud : It’s going pretty well, I’m currently on vacation so I’m taking the time to be able to rest and recharge the batteries. We have an appointment on July 2 in Monaco to start the preparation. We are all looking forward to being there and starting this great adventure in France in front of our public and in front of our families. There is a lot of desire at the idea of being able to bring us all together around this World Cup in France.
