A phosphorus bomb was discovered on Monday around 4 p.m. in a field in Saint-Vith, forcing the evacuation of part of the city as a precaution.

People who live or work along Rodter Strasse between the sports center roundabout and the Fonk bakery or parts of the road from Malmedy and An der Dell had to be evacuated in order to let the demining team work safely.

As a precaution, residents are asked to close their doors and windows. A security perimeter of 100 meters has been set up according to the mayor Herbert Grommes.
