Bengaluru: Young Kannada actor Yuvraj was arrested in the incident of cheating a businessman into a honey trap using his female friends. He and his friends extorted money from a 73-year-old businessman. A case has been registered against Kavana and Nidhi, who are friends.
Kavanagh, one of the accused, has known the businessman for four years. Yuvraj was planning a honey trap to extort money from him. Kavana introduced her friend Nidhi to the businessman a week ago. Then both of them tempted him by constantly sending him messages and pictures through WhatsApp.

The treasurer was informed that he would meet in person if he came to a place on August 3. When the businessman reached the said place, two men stopped him in the car. They said that they are special wing police.
They said that Nidhi and Kavana have filed a complaint against the businessman and if they pay the money, the case can be closed. According to this, the businessman first paid 3.4 lakhs and then 6 lakhs to the accused.
Later, another five lakh was extorted by threatening to send screenshots of chats to family members. When he continued to receive threats for money, the businessman lodged a complaint with the Halasuru Gate police.
Actor Yuvraj was arrested during the subsequent investigation. The police said that he was the one who planned the honey trap and sent the messages to the businessman in the name of Nidhi. The search is on for others in the case.
