An orange code for dangerously strong winds has been announced in eight regions of the country, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) reports. The warning is valid for Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Kardjali, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen, Yambol. Wind gusts are expected to reach 28 m/s there.

A yellow warning code for strong wind is in effect in 18 regions of the country – Blagoevgrad, Varna, Vratsa, Dobrich, Kyustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Plovdiv, Ruse, Razgrad, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia-grad, Sofia – region, Stara Zagora. Wind gusts are expected to reach 22-24 m/s in these areas.
In Blagoevgrad and Smolyan, a warning has also been issued for dangerous rainfall.

The NIMH forecast is that a strong and stormy southerly wind will blow in Blagoevgradsko with gusts of up to 22-24 m/s. In the southern regions of the district, there will be significant rainfall with amounts of up to 30 mm. In Smolyan, the wind will be strong and stormy with gusts up to 22-24 m/s. There will be significant rainfall with amounts of up to 30mm.

Only for the districts of Vidin and Pleven no warnings have been issued.
