A conducive SITUATION after the 2024 General Election is very important for national stability. This was emphasized by Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR RI Hetifah Sjaifudian.
“I agree that a conducive situation after an event called the election is a very important issue. Thank God, we have discussed it, in our opinion, thank God, yes, I think it is quite conducive,” said Hetifah in a discussion monitored online in Jakarta, Thursday (7/3).
Hetifah, who was a resource person in the Dialectics of Democracy discussion entitled Maintaining National Security Stability after the Presidential Election which was held at the Parliament Complex, assessed that a conducive situation after the 2024 General Election was important because it was the basis for stability. “For a democratic country like Indonesia, why is a conducive situation important? Because it is the basis for a safe and stable environment when the votes are counted, when the election results are announced. There is no social conflict. That is something that is very important for stability, including economic ,” he said.
According to him, maintaining peace and stability is a shared responsibility. He also appealed to the public to trust the General Election Commission (KPU) to complete the vote count.
“If irregularities are found, of course the parties who feel disadvantaged will still be given the opportunity to take the appropriate route by presenting the valid evidence they have,” he said.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies have an important role to play in keeping the situation conducive after the election. “So, in my opinion, the security forces are also involved in the legal process related to election violations, including the role of the Constitutional Court (MK), all of which is very important so that after the election, a conducive situation is maintained until the final stage,” he said.
