A Dark Nightmare – Capture Darkrai in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Darkrai is available in Pokémon Legends: Arceus! To get the Pokemon, you’ll need to complete the side mission, “A Dark Nightmare.”

You don’t have to capture Darkrai to encounter Arceus. If possible, disable auto-save in the game options to avoid missing out on the Pokemon.

Obtain the side mission “A Dark Nightmare”

To get the “A Dark Nightmare” side mission, you must:

• Have a backup of Pokémon Sparkling Diamond or Pokémon Sparkling Pearl on your console.
• Complete the main mission of Pokémon Legends: Arceus until you see the end credits.
• Accept side mission “93: A Dark Nightmare” on Professor Lavender’s mission board inside Galaxy Group Headquarters in Rusti-City. You will meet directly after Vergure, the NPC who will tell you about the mission.

Capture Darkrai

• Head into Crowned Foothills, below Calade Cliff by night to encounter Darkrai.

• To catch it, it’s a bit “complicated” since it will be necessary to surprise the Pokémon to capture it. If you get close, his area attack will damage you and he will teleport somewhere else in the Falaise Calade area. It will be the same, if you throw a Poké Ball when he spotted you.

• The best solution is therefore to use the rocks to hide and to surprise him with a Poké Ball. Don’t try to fight. You will have to do it several times to capture the Pokémon.

• Vergure, the NPC you met before the fight in Galaxy Group Headquarters will come back to you to give you your reward.
