Series from Haram Street to
The pioneers of social networking sites in Egypt launched a violent attack on a Kuwaiti series that many considered insulting to Egyptian women.
Activists launched the hashtag #Stop_Series_from_Al-Haram_Street_Al-Haram and demanded through it to stop the series scheduled to be shown in Ramadan 2022, after the producing company published the advertisement for the work.
The advertisement for the series shows an Egyptian dancer trying to seduce the head of a Gulf family and destroy the family.
The advertisement sparked outrage in the Egyptian street, and many considered it offensive to Egyptian women and demanded that it be stopped.
Egyptians launched a petition to “cancel the series, delete it from the “Shahid” platform, and take an official position against it.”
Others called on the Egyptian Representative Professions Syndicate to intervene.
Activists circulated pictures of Egyptian women who have achieved great achievements in various fields.
On the other hand, many rejected the attack on the series.
Shaheen said: “There is no Egyptian series that is devoid of the character of the dancer, and this is what has entrenched the character in everyone’s mind. This is a representation and a scenario. Why is the topic magnified? Throughout their lives, the Egyptian drama depicts the Gulf characters in their series as rich, superficial and a shaky character to make others laugh, and we were all laughing.”
Others defended the series and its author, Heba Hamada.
Bou Maktoom said: “In most Egyptian businesses, the Gulf people are seen on the grounds that they are drunk and run after the girls because of their financial situation. What our world is like! Just unit.
It is noteworthy that the series From Al Haram Street to, a Kuwaiti production, and was filmed in the United Arab Emirates, to enter the Ramadan race for 2022.
The series “From Pyramid To Street” written by Heba Mashari Hamada, directed by Al-Muthanna Sobh, and co-starring Hoda Hussein, Khaled Al-Buraiki, Laila Abdullah, Abdel Mohsen Al-Qaffas, Nour Al-Ghandour, Maram, Khaled Al-Shaer, and Iman Al-Husseini.
