At 1:43 a.m., the Valais cantonal police engagement center was informed of a misdirection on the motorway in Saxon. A motorist was driving in the overtaking lane towards Martigny on the roadway reserved for traffic heading from Martigny to Sion.
The cantonal police of Valais immediately deployed its device, supported by the cantonal police of Vaud.
Collision with an oncoming car
At the height of Martigny, a shock occurred between the left mirror of the automobile in the opposite direction and the left mirror of a vehicle which was driving normally, indicates the cantonal police.
The driver then continued to travel in the opposite direction towards Bas-Valais. A patrol of the Vaud cantonal police managed to intercept it near Saint-Triphon.
The latter was handed over to the Valais cantonal police for the purposes of the procedure, in particular the immediate seizure of her driving license and the denunciation to the competent authorities.
The driver is an 80-year-old Valaisanne, domiciled in Bas-Valais.
