A driver rushes into a house in Lac-Saint-Charles

A suspect was arrested on the night of Saturday to Sunday following hitting a house in the Lac-Saint-Charles sector with his car, which he left there before fleeing.

The man in question reportedly lost control of his vehicle around 1:25 a.m., before crashing into a house on Avenue du Lac Saint-Charles, north of Quebec.

Alerted by the noise in the middle of the night, it was the residents of the house, who fortunately were not injured in the accident, who contacted the authorities first.

Visibly worried regarding being apprehended, the driver of the vehicle took to their heels, leaving his vehicle at the scene of the accident, explains Sergeant Éric Boucher, of the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ).

The individual in question was however quickly located by a dog handler, while he was trying to hide in the same area.

The driver was arrested for driving while impaired by drugs and will appear later at the Quebec courthouse.
