A five-month-old baby hit by a car in Sherbrooke

A five-month-old baby was fighting for his life following being hit by a car on Sunday morning in Sherbrooke.

The accident occurred around 10:25 a.m. opposite a pedestrian crossing on Portland Boulevard, at Wilson Street, Sherbrooke police said.

According to spokesperson Martin Carrier, a person was crossing the boulevard when a car mowed down his stroller, in which the baby was.

“The 5-month-old child suffered serious injuries. We fear at this time for his life, “said Mr. Carrier, adding that the driver, a 37-year-old man, suffered a nervous shock.

The circumstances surrounding this accident are being investigated by a forensic identification technician.
