A game of chess in prison, an English novel was asked to read

Aftab Poonawala, who is in Tihar Jail in the Shraddha Walker murder case, asked the jail authorities to read an English novel. Jail authorities told news agency ANI that Aftab was given a travelogue by American novelist Paul Theroux, ‘The Great Railway Bazaar: By Train Through Asia’.

Officials also informed that Aftab is engrossed in the game of chess most of the time in the jail. Most of the time he plays alone, but sometimes he is accompanied by fellow inmates. He is very keen on chess and can be seen devising new strategies with his hands on both sides. Aftab is very cunning. The bones are moved from both ends with subtle subtlety. Officials said Shraddha’s murder appears to be part of a conspiracy as deep as the movements in the Chaturanga Palaka and that he has no qualms about his actions.

Aftab is living with two people who have been arrested in a theft case. Officials said that they have been instructed to monitor Aftab. Being an ‘obedient child’ in prison comes well-rehearsed for interrogation. Jail authorities said that they will understand after listening to Aftab’s answers.

Affitb told the police that Shraddha’s body was cut with a Chinese machete. The police informed that brain mapping will be done to know what is in Aftab’s mind. Officials said they are waiting for the DNA report and after that they will decide on the matter of brain mapping.

Meanwhile, the police informed that security has been increased in front of the jail where Aftab is lodged. The security was increased after the police vehicle in which Aftab was traveling was attacked while he was being brought back from the forensic lab.
