A gang of three car burglars has now been arrested and reported by the Salzburg police after several months of investigation.

The starting point for the investigation was early May 21, a Sunday. At that time, a police patrol caught a 21-year-old Austrian from Salzburg in Wals-Himmelreich in the act of breaking into a car. The coup was also documented by a surveillance camera.

The man was questioned, and the suspect named two accomplices, a 16-year-old Austrian from Bergheim and a 14-year-old Serb from Salzburg.

During the further investigations and the data backup of the mobile phones, the police showed the three suspects between May 19 and 21 a total of 14 car break-ins (including two attempts), four damage to property and the theft of three unlocked cars.

All of these coups happened that weekend around the outlet center in Wals-Himmelreich. The total damage amounts to more than 20,000 euros, but some valuables could be secured, as well as the vehicles stolen at short notice. The perpetrators have confessed to the allegations and are being reported.
