Although the construction site was stopped in 2020 following multiple protests, it resumed two years later. But the activists don’t see it that way and on Monday, they carried out a new action on the site, in the hope of stopping the work. They found themselves facing religious people, who wanted to defend their future center. Some have actually come to blows, as evidenced by the images of this good sister who chased an environmental activist, grabbed him and pinned him to the ground to prevent him from entering the construction site.

“In my eyes, it was the simplest way to stop him,” testified Sister Benoîte, the “nun-tackler”, at the RMC microphone. She said she did not realize what she was doing at the time she did it.
